MORRIS, N.Y. — JLB Plastics Co., a precision injection molder, opened in Morris in September.
President and owner John Byrne built the 2,500-square-foot building, which houses six machines with 30-350 tons of clamping force.
JLB Plastics manufactures products made of polystyrene, methylpentene copolymer (TPX), and Grivory, a metal-like nylon copolymer from EMS-American Grilon Inc.
The company molds precision parts such as calipers for the medical industry and electrical connectors. Customers include medical instrument companies that sell directly to cardiologists, cellular telephone makers, and Bausch & Lomb Inc.
JLB Plastics currently employs six, but plans to hire five more within the year. Byrne said he plans to expand on the current site this year.
