VANCOUVER, WASH. — Portco Corp., a Vancouver-based supplier of paper and plastic flexible packaging, recently bought five film printing and converting machines.
The $1.5 million investment includes printing, slitting and bag-making equipment. President Tom Leaptrott expects to have all of the machines by June 1.
Portco recently outsourced its film extrusion operations to World Class Film Corp. of Yonkers, N.Y., but remains in the plastic printing and converting business, buying film on the open market.
Portco employs 120. Leaptrott plans to hire additional workers when the expansion is complete.
