MCHENRY, ILL. — GLS Corp.'s new clear thermoplastic elastomer gives designers an alternative to silicone, according to the McHenry firm.
While possessing favorable properties of silicone, it also is easier to process, more economical, recyclable, and has near-optical clarity. GLS targets the new CL series of Versaflex TPE to end uses such as pacifiers and cosmetic parts, and for improved feel to two-shot grips and handles.
CL30 with Shore hardness of 30 and CL40 are the clearest TPEs of their type on the market, GLS claims. They can be injection molded or extruded.
