NORTHBRIDGE, MASS. — Coz Plastics Inc. has called back 15 of the 20 employees that it recently had laid off at its Northbridge colorant plant.
The workers were laid off in late March when the company streamlined its third shift, but most have been recalled, President Raymond Lachapelle said in an April 16 telephone interview.
The colorants company plans to move production from the antiquated Northbridge plant to a new, 210,000-square-foot building in Killingly, Conn., later this year. Lachapelle said many of the workers will transfer to Killingly, and Coz is helping to find jobs for the 23 workers who chose not to relocate.
Coz is a unit of Somerset, N.J.-based Plastics Color Corp., and Lachapelle also is president of Plastics Color.
Plastics Color is owned by PMC Inc. of Sun Valley, Calif.
