MASTER INDUSTRIES INC. — The Piqua, Ohio-based injection molder has named Fred Miller senior project engineer. He had been with Goshen Rubber Co. in Englewood, Ohio.
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR PET CONTAINER RESOURCES — Robert Tremblay, president of Western Container Corp. in Big Spring, Texas, has been elected 1999 chairman of the Charlotte, N.C.-based trade association. Also serving as 1999 NAPCOR officers are Vice Chairwoman Cathy Phillips, vice president of manufacturing services at Southeastern Container Inc. in Enka, N.C., and Treasurer Tom Clayton, manager of market development for Houston-based KoSa. In addition, Jennifer Windischmann has been named director of public affairs.
RHODE ISLAND PLASTICS PARTNERSHIP COUNCIL — Gerard Desrosiers has been elected president of RIPPC of Cranston, R.I., which develops apprentices in plastics processing technology. A founder of RIPPC, Desrosiers is the plant manager at Matrix Inc., an East Providence, R.I., custom injection molder.
SOCIETY OF MANUFACTURING ENGINEERS — Wolfgang Oplesch, sales development manager of structural adhesives for Troy, Mich.-based Ashland Chemical Co., has been named the 1999 chairman of the Composites Manufacturing Association, a subgroup of Dearborn, Mich.-based SME.
SOCIETY OF THE PLASTICS INDUSTRY INC. — The Washington-based trade group has announced the appointment of two new vice presidents: Jennifer Dills and Bonnie Merrill Limbach. Dills, former SPI director of communications has been named vice president of corporate communications. Limbach will join SPI as vice president of corporate affairs. She had been SPI's director of external communications from 1988-91 and, more recently, a public relations and human resources consultant.
U.S. PLASTIC LUMBER CORP. — John Poling has been named chief financial officer and vice president of the Boca Raton, Fla., maker of recycled-plastic specialty products.
S&W PLASTICS LLC — The Eden Prairie, Minn.-based custom injection molder has named Russell Jones senior account manager. He had been national account manager-medical at the Thermotech Division of Menasha Corp. in Hopkins, Minn.

Hector Ortino, president and chief executive officer of Cleveland's FERRO CORP., has added the position of chairman to his responsibilities.
