ELYSIAN, MINN. — Injection molder Lake Country Sales Inc. is undergoing a transformation just in time for the millennium with a new name and a new Minnesota plant.
Elysian-based Lake Country now goes by the name LCS Precision Molding, a name the company believes better reflects its business, LCS representative Jill Frederick said May 4 by telephone.
LCS currently operates in three buildings totaling 25,000 square feet. The firm is seeking land in the Fairbault and Mankato, Minn., area to build a new 50,000-square-foot facility in the fall of 2000, she said.
The company will buy several additional injection molding machines by the time the new plant opens. It then plans to move all operations to the new site and sell the other three buildings, Frederick said.
The firm molds small component parts for the window, door, appliance, electronic, leisure furniture and physical therapy industries, and employs 65 people in its current plants. Another 20 will be hired to fill out the staff at the consolidated facility.
