STURBRIDGE, MASS. — Custom injection molder G&F Industries Inc. has purchased the customer list of Boyden Molding Co. of Taunton, Mass., for an undisclosed price.
``Our overall plan is to grow through acquisition,'' said G&F President John G. Argitis.
The Sturbridge firm now has about $21 million in annual sales.
Boyden Molding, established in 1980, had about $2 million in annual sales and 12 employees, said former owner Robert W. Boyden. He said the firm's six presses were auctioned off recently, and the remaining employees received severance packages.
Boyden, 67, who is making retirement plans, will continue working for G&F as a consultant for one year. Plant manager Emil Kleiner Jr. also has signed on with G&F and will work full time in Sturbridge.
G&F has added 16 engineering and support employees to deal with increased business.
Privately held G&F was founded in 1962. The firm makes injection tools and precision molded parts. It also decorates, assembles, packs and ships worldwide. G&F also has metal-stamping operations.
The firm is ISO 9002 certified. It employs 215 and operates 43 injection presses, with clamping forces of 75-500 tons. G&F operates 24 hours a day in its 60,000-square-foot headquarters.
