Zumbach Electronics Corp. of Mount Kisco, N.Y., has introduced a low-intensity X-ray gauging system for in-line production control of foam-core pipe. Zumbach's Rayex Model 220P measures wall thickness, diameter, the degree of an oval shape and the rate of foam expansion. The unit can control total wall thickness or the thickness of each layer. Model 220P works on a maximum pipe outside diameter of 6.3 inches and a maximum wall thickness of 1.2 inches. A color monitor displays a complete pipe cross section and all related data.
