After receiving a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Northwestern University in 1989, Tim Stojka served as president and chief executive officer of Elmhurst, Ill.-based Fast Heat Inc., a maker of hot-runner systems, temperature controls and heating elements. During his time at the company, it experienced double-digit domestic and international sales growth through the development of new products for the plastics industry.
In June 1995 he founded Commerx Inc. along with his brother, Nick. As chairman and chief executive officer, Stojka is responsible for directing and communicating the vision and growth strategies of the company, which operates PlasticsNet.Com (www.plasticsnet.com) as an online electronic-commerce hub for the plastics industry.
Stojka serves as chairman of the international division of the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. and has participated in three trade missions sponsored by the Department of Commerce to promote the U.S. plastics industry and PlasticsNet.Com worldwide. He also is vice chairman of SPI's Midwest Division, operations chairman of the triennial NPE trade show, and a member of NPE's national board.
Stojka is involved in business and civic organizations including the Young Presidents Organization, The Executives Club of Chicago, The Executive Committee, The American Electronics Association and the Easter Seals board of directors.
