Barry Hendrix is vice president of sales for Oxy Vinyls LP, a joint venture formed by Occidental Chemical Corp. and Geon Co. in May 1999. He has global responsibility for all sales of PVC resins, which total about $1.3 billion annually.
OxyVinyls operates 11 facilities in North America that produce PVC, vinyl chloride monomer, ethylene dichloride and chlor-alkali. The joint venture is North America´s largest supplier of both PVC and VCM, with capacities of 4.2 billion pounds and 4.8 billion pounds, respectively.
Prior to his current position, Hendrix was director of sales and marketing for the Geon´s PVC resins business with total sales of $650 million. He also served as director of quality and operations planning for Geon. In this capacity he directed numerous continuous-improvement programs that resulted in higher productivity, lower manufacturing costs, and improved product quality and performance.
Hendrix joined the Geon´s predecessor, BFGoodrich´s Vinyl Division, in 1973 as a chemical engineer and has held several manufacturing and marketing positions throughout his career.
He earned a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
Hendrix resides in Dallas with his wife and two children.
