As DeWitt & Co.´s vice president of polymers, Pat Duke is responsible for all client activities within the polymer area for the Houston consulting firm, including polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene and polyvinyl chloride.
He has been actively involved with the petrochemical industry for more than 30 years, and held positions at Dow Chemical Co., Fina Inc. and Witco Corp.
In his early career Duke served as business team manager for Dow´s initial entry into the manufacture and sale of toluene diisocyanate and as product and marketing manager for Dow´s molded, rigid and elastomer urethane businesses.
With Fina, he was the business manager for polystyrene, at a time when the resin maker made the decision to consolidate production and to expand its presence in the market. He served as general manager for logistics and commercial development for Fina´s Chemicals and Plastics group and as a member of the National Polystyrene Recycling Corp.
At Witco he was responsible for general and sales management of two private-label lubricants groups, Archer Petroleum, and Southwest Grease and Oil.
Duke graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with an MBA in finance and marketing. His bachelor´s degree, also from the University of Texas, was centered on industrial management, chemistry and geology.
