LOWELL, MASS. — Moldflow Corp. of Lexington, Mass., is donating $4.5 million to fund a computer simulation laboratory, a scholarship fund and a speakers program for the Plastics Engineering Department of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. Krishna Vedula, dean of the Francis College of Engineering at UMass Lowell, said the $4.5 million grant is the largest the engineering college has received.
The laboratory is to be dedicated Feb. 24.
UMass Lowell has more than 300 students in its plastics engineering program. In addition to regular degree programs, it offers short courses for professionals.
