Continental PET Technologies Inc. plans to establish a bottle blow molding plant in Henderson, Nev. The firm bought a 300,000-square-foot industrial building in Henderson for about $10 million, according to the city's Economic Development Division. The facility will employ 76 when it opens in February, the development division said in a Jan. 4 news release.
Continental PET officials confirmed the company will establish a plant in Henderson, but they provided no details and would not confirm statements in the city's news release.
A Henderson spokeswoman said one of Continental PET's major customers, Ocean Spray, has a distribution facility in Henderson. The new plant will supply packaging for the food and beverage industry, including Ocean Spray.
Florence, Ky.-based Continental PET is part of Owens-Brockway Plastic Products, North America's largest blow molder. The Toledo, Ohio-based parent has estimated sales of $950 million for 1998, according to Plastics News' recent survey. Owens-Brockway is a subsidiary of Owens-Illinois Inc.
Continental PET has 10 plants in the United States and seven internationally, according to Henderson.
