At Kline & Co. over the past three years, Garrett Gee has assisted clients in better understanding customers and competitors in the plastics and packaging businesses. He has focused on competitive intelligence, business strategy, growth and diversification strategies, value-chain analysis, market planning and technology assessment.
He has more than 15 years of industry experience in engineering polymers, including in-depth research and development experience with crystalline and amorphous resins. Gee has management expertise in sales, marketing, customer service, distribution and technical service. Some of his assignments have involved corporate planning, global marketing, strategies, sales force automation, productivity enhancements, total quality management, activity-based cost analysis, and business unit profit and loss responsibility.
Prior to joining Kline, a Little Fall, N.J.-based consulting firm, Gee worked for several petrochemical companies, including General Electric, Elf Atochem and Bayer. As a general manager in GE Plastics, he was responsible for the commercial activities of the engineering plastics portfolio in the southwest region. During his tenure at Elf Atochem, he led its North American sales and marketing activities in plastics. In his five years at Bayer, he was involved in research and development, design engineering, marketing communication and field sales management.
Gee holds a B.S. in chemistry from Morgan State University, and has two years of graduate studies in polymer engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and of the Society of Plastic Engineers.
