Al Ambrose has responsibility for assessing and implementing Dow Chemical Co.´s new customer-interface technologies and service capabilities worldwide.
Since joining Dow in 1989, he has served as both group communication manager and group market manager for plastics; as director of quality and employee development for plastics; and as business manager for both corporate new ventures and for adhesives, sealants and coatings.
He came to Dow from Borg-Warner Chemicals in Parkersburg, W.Va., where he worked for six years. While there, Ambrose held managerial posts in the firm´s telecommunications and automotive business units, and served as marketing director for plastics in North America.
From 1974-1983, he worked for B.F. Goodrich Chemical Co. in Cleveland, as a product engineer for wire and cable electrical insulation and for flexible vinyls, then as product manager of specialty vinyls.
During the course of his career, he has managed start-up enterprises as well as global businesses with $650 million in sales.
Based at Dow´s Global Technology Center in Midland, Mich., he holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and an MBA in marketing from the University of Pittsburgh.
