Archie James is IBM Corp.´s global marketing executive for mid-market business in the industrial sector. In this position, the 23-year IBM veteran is responsible for creating solutions for and marketing to mid-market industrial companies around the globe. This encompasses customers in a number of key industrial groups, including manufacturing, process and consumer packaged goods.
The solutions his team brings to market focus primarily on key technologies in e-business, supply-chain management, enterprise resource planning, engineering, customer relationship management and business intelligence.
The Atlanta-based James has held multiple sales and management positions at IBM in both the small- and medium-business arenas, beginning his career as a sales representative in Jackson, Miss. Most recently, he was marketing executive, e-business, for distribution and industrial sectors. Prior to that, James served as manager of business transformation, IBM North America.
James holds a degree in business administration-marketing from Delta State University in Mississippi. He is a member of the Council of Logistics and has written several trade publication articles on the subject of e-business.
