Hank Harrell is the e-commerce transaction leader for GE Polymerland, a leading thermoplastic resin distributor, headquartered in Huntersville, N.C. A wholly-owned subsidiary of the General Electric Co., GE Polymerland marries the distribution practices of Polymerland with the product and service capabilities of GE Plastics.
Harrell is responsible for leading GE Polymerland's cross-functional marketing and e-business team that helped polymerland.com boost its online revenues a thousandfold to $100 million in 1999. That unit now sells an average of more than $1 million worth of materials a day online.
Harrell previously served as the firm's marketing leader, developing growth and pricing strategies, and marketing plans and handling product-line management for GE Polymerland and the custom compounding division. Prior to joining GE, Harrell served in a variety of commercial positions with Polycom Huntsman, Hoechst Celanese and Owens-Corning Fiberglas.
Harrell is a graduate of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., where he earned a bachelor's degree in business management.
