MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. — Plastic Concepts & Innovations LLC has been promoting Class A surface, nonpainted thermoforming technology since the company's recent inception. The Mount Pleasant-based partnership has been focusing on the use of Solvay thermoplastic polyolefin sheet and DuPont's Tedlar fluoropolymer film as the surface layer to give gloss and other surface effects without painting, said principal Ed Bearse.
Initial development has been in fascias and other parts for automotive, truck, recreational vehicles and farm implements.
Plastic Concepts, formed in October, also offers a range of other technical assistance in thermoforming and sheet extrusion and plans to conduct educational seminars in these fields. Bearse said the company he helped found has satellite locations in Holland and Lake, Mich., and Eldorado, Ark.
His partners in the venture are James Waddell and Charles Campbell. The three claim broad experience in materials, manufacturing, tooling and other technologies.
