WASHINGTON — H. Gunther Hoyt, vice president of marketing at screw and barrel manufacturer Xaloy Inc. of Pulaski, Va., is the new chairman of the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc.'s Machinery Division. Washington-based SPI named Hoyt and the following Machinery Division officers for the term running from June 1, 2000, to May 31, 2002:
Division vice chairman — Ed McGrady, vice president at Davis-Standard Inc. in Pawcatuck, Conn. The firm makes extruders and blow molding machines.
Auxiliary Section chairman — Steve Petrakis, vice president of sales and marketing of Sterling Inc. The Milwaukee company makes chillers, water-temperature controllers and robots.
Blowmolding Section chairman — Joe Spohr, vice president of global sales at Graham Machinery Group of York, Pa., which makes blow molders.
Components Section chairman — Tad McGwire, president of Industrial Heater Corp. of Stratford, Conn. The company makes industrial heaters and ovens.
Extrusion Section chairman — Bill Wybenga, president of blown film machinery maker Brampton Engineering Inc. of Brampton, Ontario.
Injection Section chairman — Bob Monteith, manager of product safety at Milacron Inc.'s Plastics Technologies Group in Batavia, Ohio. Milacron builds injection molding presses and other types of processing machinery.
