CANADIAN PLASTICS INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION — The Mississauga, Ontario-based group has named Martin Vines national section specialist for plastics, a newly created position.
GASKA TAPE INC. — The Elkhart, Ind., manufacturer of foam and tape has named Len Avery director of sales and marketing.
JARRETT INDUSTRIES — The Owings Mills, Md., packaging and design firm has named Todd Crandell a sales associate.
MANCHESTER PLASTICS CO. INC. — Janice Pravorne has been named a regional sales manager for the Ontario, Calif., manufacturer of acrylic, polycarbonate and polystyrene sheet products.
PACTIV CORP. — James Morris has been named vice president and general manager of Protective and Flexible Packaging for the Lake Forest, Ill., company. He replaces Paul Griswold, who left to become president and chief operating officer of Paxar Corp. Morris had been vice president of Operations and Engineering and general manager of Consumer Products. John Schwab, vice president and general manager of North American Protective Packaging, will assume the expanded role of vice president and general manager of Consumer Products. Pete Lazaredes takes on an expanded role as vice president and general manager of the Foodservice, Supermarket and Institutional Packaging business group, adding manufacturing, engineering and logistics to his responsibilities for sales and marketing.
SAINT-GOBAIN CORP. — Valley Forge, Pa.-based SGC has named J. Michael Hagan a director. Hagan had served as Furon Co. chairman and chief executive officer until SGC acquired Furon in 1999. SGC is the holding company for the U.S. and Canadian-based businesses of Cie. de Saint-Gobain, which makes building materials, glass containers, insulation, piping, ceramics and reinforcements.
SPRI — At its annual conference held in St. Petersburg, Fla., the trade group, which represents sheet membrane and component suppliers to the commercial roofing industry, elected its officers and directors for 2000. Siplast Inc.'s Ken Wolford was named president, and Olympic Fasteners' Stan Choiniere takes on the role of president-elect. Both Wolford and Choiniere have seats on SPRI's board of directors. Don Levinsohn of SFS Stadler was elected vice president and a director for a one-year term. Joe Stassi of Johns Manville Roofing Systems Division was elected secretary/treasurer. Three other members were named directors. Serving two-year terms are John Hickman from W.P. Hickman Co. and Katharine Uglow from Situra Inc.
