Engel vertical press sports bigger table Engel North America has built a bigger rotary table for its vertical-clamp machines. The company added a new size of horizontal, toggle-clamp press.
On its 200-ton vertical press, Engel greatly has expanded its standard, 46-inch rotary table to measure 62 inches in diameter. Engel built the bigger table for a customer molding large headlight components. Now the 62-inch table is an option on Engel's 200-ton insert molding presses.
The company, based in Guelph, Ontario, also has added a 600-ton, high-speed toggle press, expanding its existing sizes of 300 and 500 tons.
Faster cycle times come from accumulator-based hydraulics, plus simultaneous recovery of screw and clamp movement, according to Engel.

Firms collaborate on wood-composite lines
A booming market for machinery to run wood/plastics composites, used in building products like decking and fencing, has spawned an alliance between compounding extruder maker Krupp Werner & Pfleiderer Corp. and two smaller firms.
Krupp W&P said it is working with Akron, Ohio-based Extrusion Services Inc., which makes downstream extrusion equipment, and Extrusion Tooling Inc. of Cummings, Ga., a maker of extrusion dies and calibration equipment.
The three firms will offer complete extrusion systems, including all machinery, tooling, start-up help and technical assistance.
Krupp W&P is based in Ramsey, N.J.
