Plastics News has unveiled a fresh look to its Web site, introduced new sections and graphics, and enhanced navigational functionality via features such as a sitewide search engine. Renamed PlasticsNews.com, the 4-year-old site now offers a regular section on "E-business" and an expanded "About this site" section that provides more user help and information. The new "PN events" section will keep you updated on our Business Briefings and our annual Executive Forums.
To optimize viewing of our wider, three-column format, configure your monitor to display pages at an 800 by 600 resolution. If you use older equipment or software, you may need to scroll left and right until you either upgrade or reconfigure your display. Use of this wider screen allows us to provide more news, graphics and links in the available real estate.
We have dropped the online industry Stock Index, and have renamed Today's News as "Breaking news," Recent News as "More news," Marketplace as "Product news," and Features as "Special reports" — all to more accurately reflect their content.
For the first time, users now can use the search function in the top-left corner of each page to perform keyword searches across various sections of our site, from the news and story archives to classifieds and opinion.
Meantime, the site's access policies remain unchanged. That means that all visitors have free access to the majority of content on the site, but that paying subscribers to the weekly newspaper also can access certain value-added sections, including full-text news and story archives, historical resin pricing, and more-detailed rankings and lists data.
