GRASS VALLEY, CALIF. — Mobius Technologies Inc. and Dow Chemical Co. are teaming up to develop polyurethane foam recycling techonology. The firms announced the deal March 28. The agreement calls for the development of processes, equipment, PU intermediates and formulating technology that will use Mobius' patented recycling process worldwide, according to a Mobius news release.
Mobius, based in Grass Valley, supplies turnkey recycling systems for the PU foam industry. The Mobius process has been in commercial use by PU foam manufacturers since 1998.
Dow Polyurethanes — one of 14 global businesses of Midland, Mich.-based Dow Chemical Co. — supplies PU systems and raw materials with 36 manufacturing sites worldwide.
