CSR Hydro Conduit Corp. and Ultraliner Inc. have agreed to settle their patent infringement and unfair competition litigation. CSR and subsidiary Pipe Liners Inc. of New Orleans claimed Ultraliner and its licensed installer G.B. Cooke Inc. of Azusa, Calif., infringed on CSR's patent for trenchless pipe rehabilitation, according to Ultraliner.
Under the settlement, Oxford, Ala.-based Ultraliner and G.B. Cooke acknowledged the patent and agreed not to challenge it in the future. Houston-based CSR also agreed that Ultraliner did not infringe on its patent, according to the news release.
In return, CSR and its licensees were deemed not liable for unfair competition, the release said.
Ultraliner also promised that in the future, it will "use manufacturing and installation processes different from those employed by CSR."
