RIPON, WIS. — Creative Forming Inc. will install a fourth sheet extrusion line at its Alphatec Extrusion division in Ripon. The new Davis-Standard line is part of a $5.5 million expansion under way at Ripon. Last year Creative Forming increased production and warehouse space to 170,000 square feet, added a sheeter for the cut-sheet market, installed a new laboratory and boosted its loading dock area.
Creative Forming marketing manager Marc DeGroot said the new extrusion line will have annual capacity of 20 million pounds when it starts up in July. The line will help Alphatec capitalize on growth in graphics applications such as lenticular printing. Alphatec will buy a special roller to make lenticular sheet that is used in displays and special packaging to provide three-dimensional effects. The surface of lenticular sheet acts as a series of lenses so that an image changes shape as a consumer varies the sheet angle.
Creative Forming is a thermoformer in Ripon and Alphatec is its sheet extrusion division.
