Blow molding machine manufacturers from around the world will be demonstrating improvements on things old and introducing things new at this year's NPE. Milacron is set to debut technology to form a PET version of the traditional glass milk bottle, while Mag-Plastic North America will introduce technology for heat-set, wide-mouth and 5-liter bottles.
Also pegged for display are several lines of single-step and two-step molding machines.
Aoki Technical Laboratory Inc. (Booth E10903): AOKI-250LL-50, vented-barrel-type molding machine for specialized PET bottle recycling, and SBIII-500-150 will demonstrate seven-cavity molding of 32-ounce wide-mouth jars.
Automa SpA (Booth S1202): Double-station blow molding machine, and one-stage, three-station PET machine.
Bekum America Corp. (Booth S2540): New BA-34.2 blow molding machine in single- and double-sided executions, for technical parts and durable canisters up to 30 liters, producing 5-gallon containers. Also, twin-station BM-905D, with 12-cavity production, churning out 1-gallon, industrial, round handleware bottles of three-layer high density polyethylene, at an output of about 3,300 bottles per hour. H-111S, a single-sided version of double-sided H-111 machine, demonstrating continuous extrusion blow molding of cosmetics bottles.

Davis-Standard Corp. (Booth N6107): A dual-head blow molder especially suited to mold families of parts. The machine has two 20-pound accumulator heads, two 41/2inch groove feed extruders and 180 tons of clamping force.
FGH Systems Inc. (Booth S3912): Highlighting high-tech blow molding processes with the Ossberger DSE-50 Pressblower producing boots and bellows. B&W Uniloy Milacron 1500 DE extrusion blow molder making polypropylene soft-touch multilayer containers.
Fischer-W. Muller Blasformtechnik GmbH (Booth N6140): Patented Flat Desk blow molder producing three-dimensional components for automotive sectors, without clamping unit.
Graham Machinery Group (Booth E11503): Demonstrations by two large, multicavity, electro-hydraulic hybrid machines — the latest version of rotary shuttle GEC-4 and the Hesta shuttle HLD 620 — producing personal-care containers. The GEC-15D dual-head machine with 15-pound shot capacity producing technical parts and toys. Graham will reintroduce the Hesta line of shuttle machines, mainly smaller, single-station models, since its August acquisition of Hesta Blow Molding Machinery Co.
Graphics International Group (Booth E11335): Magic SL 15-30/ND blow molder for polycarbonate water bottles.
Jackson Machinery Inc. (Booth N5003): FlexiMatic accumulator blow molding system line, with fully automated in-machine trimming and finishing of blow molded parts and fast after- finishing tooling changeover capability.
Jomar Corp. (Booth S1114): First U.S. showing of new Jomar model 175, running a 20-cavity, half-ounce Boston Round container. The machine's molding area is equipped with interlocked guarding, approved in Europe, to increase operator safety. Double-station EBM 6.0-D extrusion blow molder producing four 2-liter handleware bottles completely trimmed in the machine. Single-step, two-station injection stretch blowing machine, running PET using a 12-cavity mold.
Krones Inc. (Booth N5874): Krones Contiform high-speed stretch blow molder, with vertically stacked heating and blowing wheels, and output speeds of 8,400-33,600 bottles per hour. Handles preforms for nonreturnable bottles and multilayer preforms.
