It looks like polypropylene will be sharing the spotlight with the advancements in thermoforming equipment to be displayed during NPE 2000. At least three thermoforming equipment makers will be running PP cups and lids at the show. Other exhibitors will feature new in-line trimming and decorating capabilities as well as new partnerships.
Brown Machine LLC (Booth S1459): Improved T-345-V thermoforming trim press, new LR-2000 lip roller and improved R-223-E baseline rotary thermoformer.
Gabler Maschinenbau GmbH (Booth N9027): D600 trim-in-place thermoforming system producing polypropylene lids; Gabler's first appearance with Lyle Industries Inc since new partnership.
GN Plastics Co. Ltd. (Booth E10447): Updates on current line of thermoforming equipment.
Greiner Verpackungen GmbH Mold & Machinery (Booth S1220): At booth of Greiner representative Container Printing Supply Inc., Greiner's Thermorunner TR3 with fast cycles, short tool-change times, simple operation and opportunity for using existing deep-draw molds. Permits processing of PS, PP, PET and barrier sheets. Upper and lower main heaters and upper and lower preheaters eliminate need for external preheating.
International Thermoforming Systems (Booth N8226): Version 3.0 thermoformer will run new 2Kool process twice daily, producing PP cups through modified conventional trim process.
Lyle Industries Inc. (N9021): Close-up video footage, including machine operation, of: servo plug drive independently driven by servo motors for speed and timing control; servo wedge trim station on in-line thermoformers with steel rule die trim stations; servo ejector and servo pick features on horizontal trim presses; servo-driven vertical trim press; Informer Series process control system; new servo-driven high-speed vertical bottle trimmer with dual-lane shuttle platens and servo-driven indexing and separator screws. First joint exhibition for new partners Lyle and Gabler Maschinenbau GmbH.
Maac Machinery Corp. (Booth S424): New Millennium Series single-station pressure former; new line of routing/trimming systems; ASP, smallest automatic single-station pneumatic thermoforming machine.
Meico srl (Booth N5870): New automatic thermoforming machine, FCS 870, including vacuum and pressure forming station with cutting press.
OMV-USA Inc. (Booth E11147): New D140S/E76 in-line extrusion/thermoforming system with D100 co-extruder will produce 32-ounce PP car cups; new supervisor system, which connects to plants at different locations; samples of new patented thermoformed PP lid with tamper-evident closure — a joint development between OMB and Nestech Machine System Inc.
Plastik MP (Booth E11747): Access to simulation technologies for thermoforming validation, Class-A finish with new in-mold decorating approach, and new structural approach for thermorformed parts.
