Compounders are always finding ways to take resins and make them better. The following compounders will be spotlighting new materials at NPE 2000:
AlphaGary Corp. (Booth E14121): Evoprene TPE compounds for window gaskets and other rubber replacement.
Ampacet Corp. (Booth S1814): Foam concentrate packages for polyolefins, styrenics, PVC and engineering resins, 45 percent loaded black masterbatches for pressure-rated pipe and pipe coating, yellow masterbatch for gas pipe, eight new ultraviolet-stable colors for conduit and AmpFlow PP and metallocene-based compounds.
Bayshore Group (Booth N9205): Rigid PVC compounds.
Clariant Masterbatches (Booth E10165): Fragrance-additive polyethylene compounds in green-apple, lemon, vanilla, leather and lavender scents. Sanitized-brand antimicrobial masterbatches to extend lifespan of kitchen and bathroom accessories, carpeting or plastic siding.
GLS Corp. (Booth N5473): Versaflex-brand CL2000X series thermoplastic elastomers. Versaflex CL2000X is a supersoft, water-clear material for bicycle seats, shoe-sole inserts and other uses, officials said. Versalloy TPEs, which can handle high temperatures and are oil- and chemical-resistant.
M.A. Hanna Co. (Booth S3437): Forprene thermoplastic vulcanizates for automotive uses, Thermatech thermally conductive compounds for automotive and electronic uses, and Ecomass polyolefin compounds for lead replacement.
Lati USA (Booth E10142): Later T-brand PTT compounds, halogen/phosphorous-free nylon 6/6 compounds, syndiotactic polystyrene compounds.
LNP Engineering Plastics Inc. (Booth E10864): Thermocomp high specific gravity (HSG) thermoplastic compounds, allowing weight to be varied in parts of a fixed size. Lubriloy DS polycarbonate compounds that offer conductivity and lubrication without contamination or corrosion.
Major Industrial Inc. (Booth E11363): Black nylon 6/6 compounds that are 33 percent glass-filled, other custom colors and custom compounds based on nylon 6, PS and ABS.
Plastics Engineering Co. (Plenco) (Booth S3132): Phenolic molding material for higher strength and dimensional stability. 100 percent recycled-content PET compounds for lower-cost, flame-rated products. Thermoset polyester compounds with new color capability.
Plastics Group of America (Booth E11831): Polifil talc-filled polypropylene compounds for medical parts such as drainage bag holders and holder/fluid detectors used in blood and gas analysis machines.
RTP Co. (Booth N9323): Nylon 6 nanocomposite compounds for extruded sheet or film, offering excellent barrier properties against moisture, gases and fragrances, officials said.
Spartech Corp. (Booth N8634): Skid-resistant PE compounds, Polypedic-brand PE and PP compounds for orthotic and prosthetic medical markets.
Sylvin Technologies Inc. (Booth E12326): Flexible PVC compounds and PVC alloys.
Teknor Apex Co. (Booth E11947): Tekbond TPEs for overmolding on power tools and household products. Flexalloy PVC compounds for increased oil and fat resistance in footwear and industrial apparel.
TP Composites Inc. (Booth E11760): HiFill ABS, high-density PE and nylon 6/6 compounds, Magnablend nylon 6 compounds.
Wedco Inc. (Booth E14434): New cryogenic grinding equipment will allow the firm to work with compounds containing carbon black.
