Dynaloy gel cleans silicone, metal molds Dynaloy Inc. developed a cleaner for silicone and metal molds used by polyurethane part molders.
Dynasolve MC-U gel removes PU residues but leaves silicone mold-release agents in the mold, according to the Indianapolis company. Dynaloy said the product is safe and nonflammable and can replace more aggressive cleaning agents. The viscous liquid is especially suited to rapid prototyping firms that use silicone molds.

AES adds new grades to Santoprene line
Advanced Elastomer Systems LP has added to its Santoprene brand of thermoplastic elastomers with new grades geared to the automotive interior market.
The M300 family is targeted for applications such as cup holders, mats, coin trays, grips and other areas where consumers want a soft, nongreasy touch, John M. Christensen, market manager for Advanced Elastomer's automotive division, said at the recent Automotive & Transportation Interiors Expo in Detroit.
The M300 TPE boasts a 30 percent improved flow during molding and a 50 percent reduction in fogging over other Santoprene brands, Christensen said. It has a lower melt temperature, allowing for faster molding cycles.
The TPEs are available only in black injection molding grades of 65 or 80 Shore A hardness. AES of Akron, Ohio, expects to have other colors in a year, he said.

Yushin robot runs by remote
Yushin America Inc.'s new N-HOP robot is strictly hands-off.
Yushin said setup operations can be done remotely, without ever touching the robot.
Another feature, a servo-kick axis, allows the N-HOP to run rack molds. Ordinarily, the rack would be in the way of the robot when the mold closes. The new Yushin model can wait over the stationary mold, then kick over the mold-open area when the mold opens.
The controller can recall 15 setups, including servo positions and speeds.
The Cranston, R.I., firm also has cut prices by 15 percent on its HOPIII-M450 and 550 series of sprue-picker robots.
