AKRON, OHIO — Akrochem Corp. has upgraded its laboratory and quality-control capabilities with an expansion and renovation at its Akron headquarters. The $500,000 project included the installation of new computer equipment for monitoring the manufacturing processes and evaluating raw materials and finished products.
"This project reflects our commitment to the technical end of the business," said Walton Silver, president and chief executive officer at Akrochem. "We have enhanced the technology in our manufacturing, laboratory and quality-control functions and can now handle greater volume in these critical areas."
The renovation also added office space for Akrochem's technical group and information systems department.
Akrochem is a provider of color concentrates, raw materials and chemical dispersions for the rubber and plastics industries. The company has three locations in and around Akron and operates warehouse facilities in 11 states, with distributors in Canada and Mexico.
