MORRISTOWN, N.J.—Honeywell Engineered Applications & Solutions has established operations in the Mercosur trade region by acquiring Nalchem Termoplasticos Ltda., a Brazilian engineering plastics firm. The new company, called Honeywell Plastics SA, will be based in Campinas, Brazil. The company will use raw materials from Honeywell's U.S. operations as well as recycled PET resins produced in-house.
Honeywell Plastics SA will focus on key U.S. and European companies with plants in Latin America, including automotive and consumer industry firms, Steve Hochhauser, vice president and general manager of Honeywell EA&S, said in a news release.
Honeywell EA&S is part of the Honeywell Performance Polymers unit of Morristown.
