STE. MARIE DE BEAUCE, QUEBEC — Maax Inc. soon will add cartoon characters for some of its bathware products to boost its youth appeal. Maax said it has signed a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. for use of its Looney Tunes characters such as Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny and Tweety. It plans to launch cartoon-adorned shower doors, bathtub surrounds and shower kits in July.
The Ste. Marie de Beauce company will emboss and imprint the characters on bathware it will sell across North America.
"For Maax, this is a first experience in manufacturing under license, and we feel this type of product integrates perfectly with current bathroom trends," Marie-France Poulin, Maax executive vice president, noted in a news release. Consumers are livening up bathrooms to add fun and personal touches, she explained.
Maax mainly will sell the new products through home renovation centers.
