CHICAGO (June 14, 7:40 p.m. EDT) — Van Dorn Demag Corp. has set up a virtual Web-based tour of its NPE 2000 booth for people who are not going to NPE — or laptop computer nerds who don´t want to set foot out of their Chicago hotel rooms.
The manufacturer of injection molding machines has unveiled www.vandorn-demag.com. After a brief presentation on Van Dorn Demag´s new philosophy, visitors move to a three-dimensional layout of the NPE booth. Visitors are given a guided tour, with scrolling words and a narrator´s voice, giving the highlights of each machine. Then visitors can move the cursor over each press to hear and read the details, at their own pace.
Currently, NPE-related data is the only thing on the new site. Eventually it will replace the company´s existing site (www.vandorn.com). The new site will include press releases and electronic files of company literature.
