CHICAGO — Several industry leaders will discuss issues involving toolmakers at NPE 2000. The program, sponsored by Wauconda, Ill.-based Progressive Components (Booth S308), will span three days and be held at 3:30 p.m. each day at Progressive's booth. The sessions will include a talk by the speakers, followed by a general discussion.
On June 20, Terry Wohlers, president of Wohlers & Associates of Fort Collins, Colo., will discuss the impact of rapid tooling on mold making. Wohlers is the author of the annual report "Rapid Prototyping: State of the Industry Report."
On June 21, Jim Meinert, director of national and international marketing for Mequon, Wis.-based Snider Mold Co. Inc., will report on global strategies for mold-making companies. Meinert has created alliances and strategies for working with the international market.
On June 22, Glenn Beall, president of Libertyville, Ill.-based Glenn Beall Plastics Ltd., will talk about product development and its role in mold making. Beall was instrumental in forming the Society of Plastics Engineers Mold Making and Mold Design Division.
"These issues are on the minds of the mold-building community," said Glenn Starkey, president of Progressive Components. "We wanted to do what we could to bring industry experts here for discussions on what the future may hold."
