CHICAGO (June 22, 9:10 a.m. EDT) — Netstal Machinery Inc. (Booth S1440) is adding larger-tonnage injection presses to its SynErgy line, starting with a 660-ton machine on display at NPE.
Dieter Klug, president and chief executive officer of the company´s Swiss parent, Netstal-Maschinen AG, said Netstal plans to add a 550-ton SynErgy within the next year. After that, the company will build a 440-ton SynEgy, he said at a news conference in Chicago.
An electric screw drive now is standard on the machines. Klug said Netstal began the SynErgy line of presses in 1996 with a 60-ton model. The company touts the SynErgy machines for speed, precision, reliability, efficiency and ease of use.
In Chicago this week, Netstal is demonstrating two-component molding, turning out polypropylene drink cups with a soft outer core of thermoplastic elastomer in a cycle time of less than four seconds. Another press is molding medical pipette tips for a clean-room demonstration.
