CHICAGO (June 26, 4:50 p.m. EDT) — Precision Mold Base Corp. has added a fourth horizontal machining center to a flexible manufacturing cell at its Tempe, Ariz., headquarters.
The company, a maker of custom mold bases, retired some older equipment when it added the new machining center, said President William Horst.
"We wanted to gain some greater efficiency in equipment," he said.
The manufacturing cell includes a rotary table, a touch probe sensor and 28 pallets. The company also uses 12 computer numerically controlled machining centers to make its mold bases.
Precision invested $600,000 in the machining center, Horst said.
