CHICAGO (July 7, 12:50 p.m. EDT) — B&P Process Equipment and Systems LLC has expanded its line of continuous kneaders with the addition of smaller machines.
The Saginaw, Mich., firm displayed a laboratory-size kneader with a 30-millimeter barrel at NPE 2000 in Chicago. Other new models in the CK series are kneaders with midrange production capacity and barrels of 45, 60 and 80 millimeters. They feature a single rotating and reciprocating screw with interrupted flights and three rows of stationary pins on the barrel wall.
The company previously focused on large kneaders. The new CK models are aimed at sensitive polymers, engineering plastics and thermoset compounding. The company also showed versions of its CT series of twin-screw compounders with high-torque gearboxes and screw speeds of up to 1,200 revolutions per minute.
