CHICAGO (July 10, 2:25 p.m. EDT) — Ashley Polymers Inc. announced the purchase of new laboratory equipment for its recently completed, 250,000-square-foot facility in Cranford, N.J.
The New York based compounder and engineering resin distributor has acquired new blenders, dryers, and a triple deck stainless steel screener for its lab. The company specializes in engineering compounds, such as nylon and polycarbonates.
The laboratory will be able to read melt temperature and index, tensile strength, elongation and flexural modulus, said Ralph Luksza, Ashley's regional sales manager.
Ashley also unveiled a new line of flame-retardant nylons during the NPE 2000 in Chicago. The product line, called the Ashlene FR system, is being touted for retaining key physical properties. The company also introduced a line of reinforced nylon 12 resins with glass concentrations of 5-50 percent.
