CHICAGO (July 17, 10:40 a.m. EDT) — Motoman Inc. is moving closer to its customers.
The robotics company recently expanded four sales offices into regional service centers in Chicago, Detroit, Phoenix and Charlotte, N.C., said Dave Baker, general manager for the Dayton, Ohio-based firm, in an interview at NPE 2000.
The centers include service and training facilities along with a sales staff. Previously, customer service and training were handled strictly through the Dayton office.
"We needed to have more of a local flavor, so we´re focusing on the customer and their specific applications," Baker said.
Also new to the company and making its debut at NPE was the UP6R shelf-mounted robot.
"It can be mounted right on the platen of the press," Baker said.
