Regarding your Sept. 11 Viewpoint, "Hemscheidt legacy lives on, if not plant," I have two questions:
* If the "West didn´t really win the Cold War," who did?
* What is the legacy that "lives on"? Failure of another East Bloc enterprise?
Why is this news or helpful for keeping our companies from the same fate? Oops! That was another question. By posing the contrast the way you do, you detract from the success our system has earned. We are the winners in the war of economic systems precisely because our system allows failure, in order to reward success. Yet we seldom see this fact celebrated in Plastics News. Why is that?
