Mattec Corp. has added touch-screen controls to its Machine Interface Unit, making it easier to use.
The touch screen MIU is the newest addition to the company´s line of ProHelp Millennium control systems that run the complete shop floor. MIU´s collect data from sensors on a machine, or directly from a press´s programmable logic controller, then sent the information to the ProHelp host computer via a high-speed interface.
Mick Thiel, president of Mattec in Loveland, Ohio, said factory personnel should be comfortable with the system.
"The TS MIU looks and operates much like an ATM Screen," he said.
