Engineers who want to convert steel construction parts to fiber-reinforced composites have a new resource, a software program called SpecGen.
The software works for products such as tanks, pipes, ducts and other items.
Product Design Center Inc. in Westerville, Ohio, developed for Reichhold Inc., a composites materials supplier.
The program guides the user through the process to enter all of the data needed to describe each product, including design, engineering specifications, corrosive chemicals used and any special requirements. The software then generates a complete set of specifications, and helps the user pick the best Reichhold resin.
The software can be accessed at www.specgen.com.
