WAYLAND, MASS. (Dec. 6, 2:40 p.m. EST) — Moldflow Corp. has agreed to distribute its Part Adviser software package on both the GE Polymerland and GE Plastics Web sites.
Under the agreement, Wayland-based Moldflow will offer the Internet version of its flow-simulation software package, called iMPA, over the GE sites. Users pay a one-time fee for unlimited analysis on a single design configuration for a three-dimensional solid model.
The program compares material grades, determines the best gating locations and evaluates the effect of variations in processing conditions.
GE will sell the package over its Web sites, www.gepolymerland.com and www.geplastics.com.
"The capability to perform plastic part analysis early in the design cycle is a critical component in bringing products to market faster," said Ken Welch, Moldflow´s vice president of marketing.
