CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Composites industry veteran Charles McClaskey has joined Norac Co. as vice president of sales and marketing, with his office in Chapel Hill.
McClaskey was Norac's sales manager from 1981-88 and spent the intervening years with Durham, N.C.-based Reichhold Inc., most recently as vice president of business development.
He was founding chairman of the Market Development Alliance of the FRP Composites Industry, leading efforts to encourage acceptance of fiber-reinforced-polymer composites. Recently, he had been an MDA board member and program leader.
Now undertaking other duties, "I can't justify continuing" with that MDA commitment, he said. The alliance is affiliated with the Composites Fabricators Association.
Norac supplies organic peroxides to the composites industry and makes metallic stearates and pharmaceutical ingredients. Operations are in Azusa, Calif.; West Helena, Ark.; and Kopmanholmen, Sweden.
The firm has sales of about $50 million, McClaskey said.
