PULASKI, VA. — Xaloy Inc. has released more details about its new $3.5 million screw-making factory in Seabrook, N.H.
The company broke ground in December on the 38,000-square-foot plant, which is 70 percent larger than the plant it will replace in Newburyport, Mass. Production is set to begin in Seabrook in July.
The plant will house screw operations and a new Plastification Technology Center with injection molding, extrusion and other types of equipment.
"PTC will greatly strengthen our capabilities to test and demonstrate new screw materials and designs, nozzles, complete plastification systems and other new products under actual process conditions," said Walter Cox, chief executive officer of Xaloy. The company also will conduct training at the PTC.
During the next two years, Xaloy is investing another $4 million at Seabrook beyond the construction and move-in costs.
The new factory is near the junction of Interstate 95 and I-495, and is just 10 miles from the Newburyport plant. Xaloy is based in Pulaski.
