Fred Humbert is vice president of sales and marketing for American MSI Corp. of Moorpark, Calif.
Humbert joined MSI in 1989 as national sales manager and has led MSI's efforts to integrate PC-based control platforms to plastics processes, specifically in the area of hot-runner molds and more recently in the area of industrial networks.
At the NPE 2000 trade show last summer, MSI introduced its Cell-Net technology, which allows companies to monitor the intimate details of their molding operations from just about anywhere in the world. The network is accessible from a laptop computer or another mobile device
Humbert heads a global sales organization with eight direct offices in North America, Europe and Asia with both a direct sales force and channel distribution in more than 20 countries.
A graduate of California Lutheran University with a degree in business and marketing, Humbert first worked at Citizen America Corp. as computer-peripheral product manager. He later joined Maxtor Inc. and headed an advanced technology group in the development of data-storage systems.
