Jay L. Gardiner is using his 28 years of plastics experience to help introduce the industry to e-commerce. He is director of business development for ECOutlook of Houston.
The company, which has operational headquarters in Dublin, Ohio, provides an Internet platform and software that enable businesses to rapidly adopt e-commerce, even when their customers and suppliers have differing computer systems.
ECOutlook has worked with a number of top companies, including Bemis Co. of Minneapolis, New York-based consumer-goods producer Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.; DuPont of Wilmington, Del.; Pliant Corp. (formerly Huntsman Packaging Corp.) of Salt Lake City, Utah; BASF Corp. of Mount Olive, N.J.; Houston-based Lyondell Chemical Co. and joint-venture partner Equistar Chemicals LP, among others.
Gardiner is a past president of the Society of Plastics Engineers, a current member of the board of the National Plastics Center and Museum, vice president of the Plastics Academy and chairman of the board of the Plastics Institute of America.
Gardiner also owns plastics-distribution and consulting firm Gardiner Plastics Inc. of Port Jefferson, N.Y., where he is based. Prior to founding Gardiner Plastics, he served in management for a variety of resin-distribution and injection molding companies.
Gardiner earned an MBA from New York University's Stern School and has more than 25 years experience in management, sales and strategic planning.
