Wolverine Siding Systems' Millennium brand of vinyl siding was selected as Best New Product 2001 by Today's Homeowner magazine.
The brand belongs to Valley Forge, Pa.-based CertainTeed Corp., which announced the award at the International Builders' Show in Atlanta.
The siding is produced with the company's patented SmartWall System, which adjusts to seasonal temperature changes that cause cycles of expansion and contractions, according to a news release. These cycles are the leading cause of wavy walls.
In other CertainTeed product news, the company also has begun offering jamb extensions for new-construction windows that are extruded from PVC, semi-rigid PVC and foam PVC.
The extensions are applied during manufacturing, doing away with the need for field application of drywall returns or wood returns, according to company information.
CertainTeed Corp. ranked second in Plastics News' recent survey of top North American pipe, profile and tubing extruders with sales of $652.5 million.
