Based in Sacramento, Calif., Tim Shestek has served since 1994 as manager of state and local public affairs for the American Plastics Council, the Arlington, Va., trade association of major resin producing companies.
In this capacity, Shestek is responsible for implementing issue management programs; creating and managing public service campaigns, events and awareness programs; analyzing legislation; advocating policy before legislative bodies and regulatory agencies; and developing the industry's political grassroots programs.
Prior to joining APC, he served as legislative assistant to California Assemblymember Paula L. Boland (R-Granada Hills) and California State Sen. Frank Hill (R-Whittier).
Shestek holds a bachelor's degree in government from California State University, Sacramento, and currently is completing a specialized studies program in public relations at the University of California, Davis.
