FITCHBURG, MASS. — The Plastics Academy is seeking nominations of deceased individuals for the Plastics Hall of Fame.
Nominations will close April 1, 2002.
To date, 120 people have been inducted into the Plastics Hall of Fame, housed at the National Plastics Center & Museum in Leominster, Mass.
"We welcome nominations from any interested party," said John Kretzschmar, chairman of the Plastics Academy, which administers the hall. "We have established new procedures to simplify the nominating process and increase our ability to identify and honor those who did the most to make our industry great."

A committee of trade magazine editors and representatives of trade associations will screen all nominations. Then a committee of Plastics Hall of Fame members will pick as many as five people for induction into the hall in the fall of 2002.
Nominations of living inductees will open Jan. 1. As many as nine people will be inducted at a ceremony during NPE 2003.
Anyone may join the Plastics Academy. Membership dues are $75 a year.
